We've put together the best Minecraft modpacks to run on your own server — the 50 most popular CurseForge packs you can launch for a group of friends. You'll find hardcore RPGs and souls-likes, zombie apocalypses and horror, skyblocks and one block, Create factories, Pokémon and cozy farms. For each pack we list the genre, Minecraft version, loader and how much memory the server needs for 2–3 players, and every entry ends with a link to a detailed setup guide.

How we built the ranking

The ranking is based on the popularity order of modpacks on CurseForge as of October 29, 2026, taking total downloads into account. The Elysium modpack catalog on the order page follows the same sorting, so the positions here match what you'll see when you search for a pack while ordering a server. Downloads aren't the only factor: older packs like RLCraft have collected tens of millions of downloads over many years, while newer projects rank higher thanks to their current popularity.

The list only includes packs that have an official server pack on CurseForge and can be installed on an Elysium server. We left out client-side packs built for FPS and shaders, since they have nothing to do on a server. Packs whose authors have disallowed third-party distribution of their files are excluded too — a server can't download such a pack in full. Descriptions are based on the packs' CurseForge pages, and the recommended memory comes from our catalog: it's the amount at which a server for 2–3 players runs without constant pauses.

All 50 modpacks in one table

A quick summary: genre, Minecraft version with loader, and the Elysium plan that's enough for 2–3 players. Each name links to a separate article about running a server for that pack.

Tip

The pack version on the server and on every player's client must match down to the last digit. Before inviting friends, compare the pack version in your players' launchers with the version on the server: this prevents most mod mismatch errors when joining.

Ranks 1–10

1. All the Mods 10 (ATM10)

The flagship of the All the Mods series and the most popular pack in this ranking, with over 22 million downloads. It's a classic kitchen sink of around 500 mods: tech, magic, exploration and lots of quests leading to a proper endgame. ATMTeam mixes the mods every big pack has with newer and lesser-known projects. ATM10 runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 and NeoForge, and the current 8.3 release comes with an official server pack. For 2–3 players you need 12 GB of memory — the Apex plan. Our All the Mods server page also covers the previous pack, ATM9. How to run a server: All the Mods server hosting.

2. DeceasedCraft

A zombie apocalypse in a huge procedurally generated city built on The Lost Cities, inspired by Project Zomboid and 7 Days to Die. The city is split into five districts, over 60 buildings were designed by a professional architect, and the hordes arrive in waves that grow stronger over time. Tech progression is built on Create and Immersive Engineering, with more than 100 weapons and over 15 special zombies. Note that the 5.10+ branch is an open beta that can't be completed; for a full playthrough the author recommends version 5.5.5. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1 and needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: DeceasedCraft server.

3. Better MC (BMC4)

Better MC is Vanilla+: the game still feels like Minecraft, but the world gets much richer. BMC4 has over 350 mods: overhauled world generation with Biomes O' Plenty, thousands of new dungeons and structures from When Dungeons Arise, bosses from Mowzie's Mobs and Cataclysm, the Aether dimension with add-ons, waystones, Xaero's Minimap and rideable dragons. There are 100+ quests, and some content is backported from newer game versions. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1. The newest file, v62hf, has no server pack; the official one is published for v62, so keep players on the same version as the server. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: BMC4 server.

4. RLCraft

The legend of hardcore survival and the most downloaded pack on the list, with over 30 million downloads. Its author, Shivaxi, hand-tuned every mod around one idea: survival should be genuinely hard. You can't punch trees, your first tools are made of flint, dragons roam the world, and you'll die a lot. RLCraft runs on Minecraft 1.12.2 and Forge; the last release, 2.9.3, came out in 2023. The description has two important server notes: set enable-command-block=true and don't add VanillaFix or BetterFPS. For 2–3 players 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: RLCraft server.

5. All the Mons (ATMons)

All the Mons is All the Mods 10 with Cobblemon fully integrated. ATM10's 400+ mods meet Pokémon: custom trainer battles, unique structures and Pokémon quests. Poké Ball recipes are reworked to require modded materials, so it pays to mass-produce high-tier balls on automated lines. The ultimate goal is the ATM Star: crafting it takes mastery of complex tech and magic mods as well as rare Pokémon-related resources. The pack runs on NeoForge 1.21.1. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: All the Mons server.

6. Prominence II: Hasturian Era

A story-driven RPG built on custom content. You play as one of the Flameborn, sent to stop the Void's invasion. At the center is the capital of the Kingdom of Vaaz, with NPCs, shops and quests, which changes as the campaign progresses; there are two storylines and dialogues voiced by real actors. You build your class on a talent tree with 10 fates, 16 passive talents and 5 active abilities. There's a leveling system with mob scaling, including in multiplayer, plus artifacts and Mythic bosses. Prominence II runs on Fabric 1.20.1 and has over 13 million downloads. It needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Prominence II server.

7. All the Mods 10: To the Sky

ATM10 as a skyblock: you start in the void with a tree and a single block and build an empire on tech, magic and automation. The mod list comes from All the Mods 10, but progression is reworked for skyblock, where getting resources takes creativity. The author states the pack is fully compatible with servers and recommends allocating at least 6–8 GB. ATM10 To the Sky runs on NeoForge 1.21.1; the latest release, 2.3.0, came out on October 26, 2026. For 2–3 players 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: ATM10 To the Sky server.

8. Cursed Walking

Another zombie apocalypse, this time focused on exploration and progression. Zombies spawn day and night, climb on top of each other, gather into hordes every ten days and can infect you. Over time, new phases bring stronger variants like runners and brutes. There are plenty of weapons: guns from Timeless and Classic with add-ons, plus armor and melee weapons from Marbled's Arsenal and Melees. The world has cities, bunkers and labs, and the endgame takes you to the dangerous Depths dimension with its own creatures. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1, and the server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Cursed Walking server.

9. Homestead

A cozy pack about slow living: farming, cooking, fishing and building. Homestead guides you through 709 quests in 27 chapters. It has 187 dishes, drinks from barrels and kettles, 33 kinds of fish, 100+ plushies to collect and almost 7,000 decorative blocks. The biggest chapter is about Create, from your first cogwheel to industrial-scale contraptions. The pack runs on Fabric 1.20.1. The official server pack is published for version 2.0, while the newer 2.0.1 doesn't have one, so keep players on the same version as the server. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Homestead server.

10. SkyFactory 4

The modded skyblock classic by darkosto, Blargerist and Firstnecron, with over 14 million downloads. Instead of the usual sieving, resources grow on Sky Orchards trees, and you choose what to produce. There are 30+ world types, from the classic tree on a dirt block to variants with their own recipes. Advancements replace a mandatory quest book, and for long-term players there's an optional prestige system: points and unlocks are global and carry over to other worlds. The pack runs on Minecraft 1.12.2 and Forge; the last release, 4.2.4, came out in 2021. The server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: SkyFactory 4 server.

Ranks 11–20

11. Into the Backrooms: Found Footage

Horror based on the internet legend of the Backrooms, styled like old VHS footage. To get in, you suffocate in sand or gravel; then come endless Lobby hallways, a parking garage, the Poolrooms and other levels. You'll meet entities like smilers, which you drive off with a flashlight. The key point for a server: the skinwalker on Level 0 is only enabled in multiplayer — it takes over a player's body and uses their microphone to fool everyone else. The pack runs on Fabric 1.20.1; the official server pack is published for version 2.0.3, and newer files don't have one. 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: Into the Backrooms server.

12. SkyFactory 5

The fifth SkyFactory, where the void becomes your canvas. The core idea is painting the world one color at a time: resources are crafted from dyes you collect from dripstone, Creeper explosions and other sources. Mob spawning works differently: through gateways you battle titans and earn trophies that let you spawn those mobs on demand. Create appears in the series for the first time, and Mystical Agriculture, Draconic Evolution and RFTools Dimensions are back. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1 and requires Java 17; the last release, 5.0.8, came out in 2025. The server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: SkyFactory 5 server.

13. Isle of Berk (Claws of Berk)

A pack for How to Train Your Dragon fans. The world has over 100 dragon species and 2,000+ variants: you can tame, breed and ride them and take them into battle. Along the way you'll find Viking villages and ships, Viking weapons and armor, complex multi-level dungeons, tall mountains and oceans. It's a good pick if you'd rather explore the world on dragonback in peace. Isle of Berk runs on Minecraft 1.18.2 and Forge; the latest release, 3.2.7, came out in October 2026. For 2–3 players 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: Isle of Berk server.

14. Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG [Ultimate]

A medieval fantasy RPG with its own lore, powerful gear and quests, for solo or group play. Combat is reworked with new animations and a dodge. You develop your character through a skill tree and origins, enemies grow stronger the further you explore, and there are two main magic mods. The world is overhauled, with hundreds of dungeons and five new dimensions, 200+ quests and a shop for spending the coins you earn. You can become the monarch of your own kingdom and defend it from invaders. The pack runs on Forge 1.19.2, and there's also a Lite version. The server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG server.

15. Better MC (BMC5)

The new generation of Better MC on NeoForge 1.21.1, with the same Vanilla+ idea. BMC5 has over 320 mods: world generation from Oh The Biomes We've Gone and Geophilic, hundreds of dungeons and structures from Moog's Voyager Structures, AdoraBuild and Formations, and mobs and bosses from Alex's Mobs and Friends & Foes. Waystones, Xaero's Minimap and rideable dragons are still here. The official server pack is published for v53, while the newer v54 doesn't have one, so check the version on players' clients and on the server. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: BMC5 server.

16. Biohazard: Project Genesis

An open-world, story-driven apocalypse from Void Cube Studios. After a cataclysm, humanity hid underground, and you're one of the Project Genesis test subjects sent up to a surface ruled by radiation, fungal infection and mutants. Quests and campaign chapters drive the story, but you can ignore it and build your own bunker or settlement. There's progressive infection and sanity, over 100 firearms and melee weapons with attachments, and the studio's own mods, such as advanced radiation. The project is in active development: right now it's public beta 0.4.6.1 on Forge 1.20.1. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Biohazard: Project Genesis server.

17. All of Create

A pack for players who came to Minecraft to build machines. All of Create by quickqwek is Create 6.0 with 50+ add-ons, quests that guide you through progression and a focus on good performance. There's no clutter: on CurseForge it's tagged as light and Vanilla+, so the world stays familiar and all the attention goes to trains, conveyors and factories. All of Create runs on NeoForge 1.21.1; the current release is v2.6. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. If you also want to fly, see the Aeronautics version below. How to run a server: All of Create server.

18. All in One [Modded One Block]

Modded one block: the whole world is a single block that hands out new blocks, mobs and chests. Progression is split into phases: flatland, a farm with Farmer's Delight blocks, underground, the Overworld, magic phases based on Astral Sorcery and Ars Nouveau, the ocean, the Bumblezone, the Nether, the End and a final phase that mixes everything. The Time Is Up mod limits your time in other dimensions, so their resources must be gathered wisely. The pack runs on Forge 1.16.5; the last file, 1.5.4b, came out in 2023, and the official server pack is available for 1.5.4. Our catalog recommends 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: All in One server.

19. All the Mods 11 (ATM11)

The newest All the Mods and the only pack in this ranking on Minecraft's new version numbering — 26.1.2. The authors call it a super early alpha: the idea is the same, a big kitchen sink with the core mods of major packs plus new finds, but the mod list keeps growing and changing with every update. The current build is beta 0.13.0, released on October 27, 2026. ATM11 runs on NeoForge, and Minecraft 26.1 and newer needs Java 25. For a stable long-term server, pick ATM10; ATM11 is for playing on the newest version. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: ATM11 server.

20. Zeefski Jujutsu Kaisen Craft

A pack based on the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, where the goal is to defeat the King of Curses. Its core is the Jujutsu Craft (Sorcery Fight) mod, plus JJSK with extra techniques and mobs, JJRB for binding moves to keys and JJALM for parties, so you don't hit your teammates in a fight. The other mods add convenience and multiplayer features: Xaero's Minimap, backpacks, cosmetic armor and optimization. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the official server pack is published for version 3.2, and the newer 3.2.1 doesn't have one. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: ZJJK server.

Ranks 21–30

21. Otherworld [Dungeons & Dragons]

A fantasy RPG based on the Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition rules and inspired by Baldur's Gate 3. You create your character with a character sheet: pick a race and class, take cantrips and feats. Abilities and stats unlock as you play, and leveled enemies drop legendary gear. The vast fantasy world has capital cities and enhanced villages, orcs, goblins and dragons, gold and silver coins, and village bounties. A campaign with a new dimension, rituals and its own lore ties everything together. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the current release is v8 HF2. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Otherworld server.

22. All of Create Aeronautics

A separate version of All of Create built around Create Aeronautics: the same 50+ add-ons, quests and focus on performance, but now your contraptions can take to the air. The pack is light and close to vanilla, so it suits a small server where friends build flying ships and shared bases. The author is upfront that Create Aeronautics and the related Sable may have bugs and asks you to report them to those mods' developers. All of Create Aeronautics runs on NeoForge 1.21.1; the current release is v2.8. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: All of Create Aeronautics server.

23. DawnCraft

A souls-like RPG with its own quest system and over 10 million downloads. DawnCraft has dozens of bosses with unique attack patterns and animations, hundreds of new animals, monsters and structures, a reputation system and souls-like combat. In total it includes over 200 hand-picked mods. If you edit the pack, the author asks you not to remove Dawncraft_Resources and Dawncraft_Datapack, or bugs will appear, and recommends allocating 8–12 GB to the game. DawnCraft runs on Minecraft 1.18.2 and Forge; the latest release is 2.0.16_hf. For 2–3 players the server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: DawnCraft server.

24. The Pixelmon Modpack

A ready-made pack built around Pixelmon, the mod that brings Pokémon to Minecraft: exploring, catching and battling them. It includes the official Pixelmon soundtrack by Chris Geddes, JourneyMap with Pokémon sprites on the map, and Oh The Biomes You'll Go — over 80 biomes with Pixelmon integration. Nature's Compass and Explorer's Compass help you find the biomes and structures you need. The pack has over 20 million downloads. It runs on NeoForge 1.21.1; the official server pack is published for version 9.3.14, and the newer 9.4.2 doesn't have one. 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: Pixelmon server.

25. Cave Horror Project

Horror survival with a full storyline: over 240 quests across six chapters. Threats include The Anomaly, the Cave Dweller, the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who and Herobrine events, while the ArPhEx mod adds tough bosses. For a server, the most interesting part is Simple Voice Chat combined with Simple Void Radio: players craft walkie-talkies and talk over distance, and the quests and events are built for multiplayer. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the latest release is 3.6.1. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Cave Horror Project server.

26. Cobblemon Official Modpack [Fabric]

The official modpack of the Cobblemon mod — Pokémon in Minecraft. You can catch over 800 Pokémon, level them up, evolve them, ride them and battle: fights run on the Pokémon Showdown engine. In multiplayer, players trade Pokémon and duel each other. The pack itself adds optimization mods and better visuals and audio while barely changing the vanilla game. Cobblemon has no official server, so your own server is the easiest way to play with friends. The pack runs on Fabric 1.21.1, and there's a separate NeoForge version. It's the lightest pack in the ranking: 4 GB is enough — the Pulse plan. How to run a server: Cobblemon server.

27. Craft to Exile 2

An action RPG in the spirit of Diablo and Path of Exile, built on the Mine and Slash mod. Your character is fully customizable: classes, talent tree, ascendancies and gear, plus dodge rolls in combat. The endgame is rich: instanced maps, uber bosses and the Twilight Forest. The Undergarden, Blue Skies and The Otherside dimensions are revamped, and the quest book has 250+ quests with a campaign and an epilogue. You can become your village's mayor and fend off invaders. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the latest release is 2.1.4. For 2–3 players 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Craft to Exile 2 server.

28. Dungeon Heroes

“Minecraft Dungeons meets vanilla survival”: a co-op dungeon crawler designed for multiplayer from the start. You choose from eight classes — wizard, archer, paladin and more — with 60+ spells, 40+ passive abilities and a skill tree of 200+ nodes. The world has 30+ dungeons and 13 boss fights, and there are over 400 loot items to collect. The author recommends that at least one player in the team picks a heavily armored class, and you can share XP with the /team command. The pack runs on Fabric 1.21.1, and the server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Dungeon Heroes server.

29. MC Eternal 2

A hybrid kitchen sink where the author promises “something for everyone”. You get hundreds of Tinkers' Construct materials with a custom add-on, Create with trains and add-ons like Create: Hypertubes, magic from Iron's Spells and Spellbooks and Goety, and Mekanism fission and fusion reactors. You can found a town with citizens via MineColonies, explore the dark The Great Below dimension — the only place osmium spawns — and complete hundreds of quests from the mysterious Questmaster for coins. Fishing is completely overhauled, and rats still shoot cheese from cannons. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the latest release is 1.3. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: MC Eternal 2 server.

30. Lucky World Invasion

A lucky block challenge: defeat a heavily buffed Ender Dragon before the invasions get you. Every block you open can give you something useful or something nasty, and after a 21-day grace period the invasions begin and the difficulty climbs. The pack has dozens of lucky block types, TaCZ firearms and smart AI mobs. Ready-made race maps are built in via Skyblock Builder. Events are scripted in KubeJS and configurable, and with shaders the invasion sky effects are disabled. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the last release, 2.7.2, came out in 2025. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Lucky World Invasion server.

Ranks 31–40

31. Society: Sunlit Valley

A farming economy in the style of Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon. You earn money by shipping goods and spend it on new items, farm upgrades and tools. Every season has its own crops and fruit trees, and there are animals with an affection system, slime ranching, cheese and wine aged in casks, and fish ponds. Five skill trees give perks for farming, mining, fishing, husbandry and adventuring, and the Skull Cavern dimension resets every day. The author says it's designed for multiplayer, with ways to protect valuables and trade between players. It runs on Forge 1.20.1, and the server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Society: Sunlit Valley server.

32. Ascendra

An adventure pack about exploration, magic and a touch of tech. Ascendra has over 440 mods, new dimensions, 500+ structures, overhauled world generation and tough boss fights. Combat is improved with Better Combat, spells let you become truly powerful, and tech helps automate the grind. There's a calm side too: building, cooking with Farmer's Delight and farming at your own pace. The author warns that it's an early beta and bugs are possible, and recommends allocating 8 GB to the game. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the latest release, V9.21, came out on October 28, 2026. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Ascendra server.

33. SevTech: Ages

An advanced progression pack by darkosto and Firstnecron. You start with no map, no hints and a handful of items: ores stay hidden until you unlock them, recipes and items appear as you progress, and new mobs arrive later. The journey goes through ages, from the Stone Age to space. For a server, the key point is that progression is per player, not per world, so latecomers aren't left behind, and the Together Forever mod lets players form teams with shared progression. The author suggests the quark_realistic world type. The pack runs on Forge 1.12.2; the last release, 3.2.3, came out in 2021. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: SevTech: Ages server.

34. One Block Horror

One block with horror mods: monsters stalk you at night on your way to defeating the dragon. Torches are lit with a box of matches and burn out over time, and sleeping is impossible, so you'll have to survive every single night. You can craft many kinds of weapons and armor, and the pack is optimized to run smoothly. One Block Horror runs on Forge 1.19.2; the last release, 1.3, came out in December 2024. For 2–3 players 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: One Block Horror server.

35. InsaneCraft

The official pack of the InsaneCraft series, played by SSundee, Sigils and other YouTubers. It has 250+ mods, including classics like Botania, Applied Energistics 2, Draconic Evolution and Astral Sorcery, plus the Lost Infinity mod. The ultimate challenge is to collect the Infinity Stones and become Thanos. Note that version 1.3.1 is the last update: the authors no longer update or support the pack, so it's a finished project. It runs on Minecraft 1.12.2 and Forge; the official server pack is published for version 1.3.0, and file 1.3.1.1 doesn't have one, so keep players on the same version as the server. The server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: InsaneCraft server.

36. Craftoria

A massive pack with 500+ mods and over 2,000 quests that combines automation, magic, exploration, adventure and creative building. Craftoria has dynamic seasons, custom content and a handcrafted endgame. The tech path leads to automated mining, factories, energy networks and digital storage, while the magic path leads to rituals, spellcasting and artifacts. Quests are structured so that mods unlock gradually, which makes the pack suitable for beginners and veterans alike. Craftoria runs on NeoForge 1.21.1; the latest release is 1.37.0. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Craftoria server.

37. Fractured Opolis

The world is broken, and resources are scattered across different dimensions. To gather everything you need, you travel through BBL Portals to The Undergarden, Colored Caves, Fractured Deserts and other worlds, with the final goal of returning to the regular Overworld. The pack includes Immersive Engineering, LTX Industries and benbenlaw's own mods. It's one of the newest packs on the list: the project appeared in April 2026 and gets frequent updates. Fractured Opolis runs on NeoForge 1.21.1; the latest release is 4.3. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Fractured Opolis server.

38. RLCraft Dregora

RLCraft in the new world of Dregora: Shivaxi teamed up with the creators of a custom world generator built on OTG. There are 300+ new biomes and 300+ new or updated structures, plus new bosses, mobs, mechanics and a storyline with its own lore. The difficulty is true to RLCraft tradition: the authors promise you'll die a lot. There's an important server instruction: you need the server pack specifically, and inside it the SERVER README OR DIE.txt file, which is worth reading before launch. The pack runs on Forge 1.12.2; the latest release is v1.1.2b. For 2–3 players, the 8 GB the author recommends will do — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: RLCraft Dregora server.

39. Cisco's Fantasy Medieval RPG [Dragonfyre]

The sequel to Ultimate, set many centuries later. It keeps the lore, custom gear and focus on multiplayer adventure, but adds five combat classes with active abilities, better shield gameplay and enemies that sometimes get random Diablo-style buffs. The Nether and the End are completely overhauled with Better Nether and Better End, there are 300+ quests, and you can spend coins in a quest shop to skip tedious grinding. Right now it's beta 3C on Forge 1.20.1. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Cisco's Dragonfyre server.

40. Crazy Craft Updated

An unofficial revival of the legendary Crazy Craft on Minecraft 1.16.5. At its core is Chaos Awakens, a remake of OreSpawn, surrounded by 250+ mods: 100+ biomes, 500+ new creatures, 300+ structures and at least five new dimensions, including ant dimensions. The author warns that the project is still in beta with 0.x version numbers and updates may change a lot, and there's a Lite version for weaker computers. The pack runs on Forge 1.16.5; the latest release is 0.13.4. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Crazy Craft Updated server.

Ranks 41–50

41. Desolate Planet

Hardcore survival inspired by Crash Landing: you crash on the uncharted desert planet T4L0S. Water is scarce, heat and thirst never let up, resources are spread across the planet, and the goal is to build up technology and escape. The world is set to hardcore, and extra lives are built with the Sync mod; the author recommends learning to use these shells rather than turning hardcore off, since the game is balanced around them. A quest tree guides progression. Server packs come with most releases: the newest, 1.8.6.0, doesn't have one, while 1.8.4.1 does. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1, and 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: Desolate Planet server.

42. Abyssal Ascent

An unusual vertical pack: using Immersive Portals, eight dimensions are stacked on top of each other, and you spawn at the very bottom, in the Undergarden. The goal is to fight your way up to the regular world through 50+ underground biomes, dangerous mobs and bosses. To tie dimensions from different mods into one progression, the authors wrote hundreds of custom recipes, spawn scripts and loot tables. For groups there's proximity voice chat. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1; the official server pack is published for version 0.2.2.2, and the newer 0.2.3 doesn't have one. Our catalog recommends 4 GB — the Pulse plan. How to run a server: Abyssal Ascent server.

43. Liminal Industries

A tech pack set in the Backrooms. To escape the endlessly shifting rooms, you have to build an automated factory right in the middle of this liminal space. Forgotten furniture is recycled into resources, the factory grows along a custom multi-chapter tech tree, cargo travels on your own train network, and magic lets you summon mobs from outside. There's combat too: sculk-infected mobs guard valuable loot. The pack runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge; its latest release number, 1.19.3, is the pack version, not the game version. 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: Liminal Industries server.

44. Valhelsia 6

A balanced pack where everyone finds their own style. Builders get a huge choice of decorative blocks, Valhelsia Furniture and Supplementaries. Engineers get Create and PneumaticCraft: Repressurized for factories and automation. Adventurers get Biomes O' Plenty and Galosphere biomes, the Deeper and Darker, Twilight Forest and Undergarden dimensions, and rocket trips to other planets with Ad Astra. There's Ars Nouveau magic, mobs from Alex's Mobs and Aquamirae, Farmer's Delight cooking and two shader packs. Valhelsia 6 runs on Forge 1.20.1; the last release, 6.2.3, came out in 2025. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Valhelsia 6 server.

45. Just Create SMP

The official pack of the Just Create SMP, a server where several YouTubers play. The idea is as simple as it gets: Create with the Post Production update and a few small quality-of-life mods. No new mobs, structures, other tech or world generation — just Create, as close to vanilla as possible. The author plans to add mods like Steam & Rails once they're available for this version. The pack runs on NeoForge 1.21.1; the latest release is 0.5. 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: Just Create SMP server.

46. Forever Stranded

An old but popular survival pack set on a dry, hot planet with little but sand around. First you need to find water to cope with the heat, then food. Quest lines guide the playthrough, the map is set to hardcore, and extra lives come as you progress. Inside are Tinkers Construct, Applied Energistics 2, Ex Nihilo Omnia, Immersive Engineering, Advanced Rocketry and other classic mods. The author left a server instruction: in the server files, rename the template map to world. The pack runs on Forge 1.10.2; the last release, 2.0.9, came out in 2024. 6 GB is enough — the Vector plan. How to run a server: Forever Stranded server.

47. Cobblemon Academy (Legacy)

The follow-up to Cobblemon: Star Academy by PeteZahHutt, BaboAbe and KaptainWutax. It expands Cobblemon with more Pokémon, Mega Evolutions, gyms, quests, trading cards and a simple economy. William Wythers' Overhauled Overworld, Oh The Biomes We've Gone, Regions Unexplored and Stellarity shape the world, and there are hundreds of structures. Hostile mobs don't roam the wilderness — danger waits behind guarded walls. Once per real-life day you can visit the Safari World in the Eternal Starlight dimension and catch Pokémon with a limited number of Safari Balls. The pack runs on Fabric 1.21.1, and the server needs 8 GB — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Cobblemon Academy server.

48. Soulrend

A souls-like action RPG in a dark fantasy setting. Combat is built on Epic Fight with 100+ unique movesets, bosses come from Cataclysm, Mowzie's Mobs and Soulslike Weaponry, and there are hundreds of weapons from Simply Swords, Epic Knights and other mods. The world is overhauled with new structures, towns from Luki's Grand Capitals, Explorify, fantasy textures and battle music that kicks in during fights. Character progression runs through Passive Skill Tree and a leveling system with several classes. Soulrend runs on Forge 1.20.1; the latest release is v8.5.2. The server needs 12 GB — the Apex plan. How to run a server: Soulrend server.

49. Prodigium Reforged

An RPG with Terraria-style progression: defeat bosses in a set order, and new ores, monsters and NPCs appear in the world. There's no automation or tech, just exploration, combat and loot. There are 39 bosses, each dropping its own treasure bag, and the difficulty rises after every win. Build a house with the right furniture and NPCs will move in — there are 11 so far. Classes like Berserker, Crusader, Archer and Gunner have their own armor sets with bonuses and skill trees. The author hand-tuned almost every mod config. The pack runs on Forge 1.20.1, and 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Prodigium Reforged server.

50. Vault Hunters Third Edition

An action RPG from the iskall85 team, built around a mysterious dimension called the Vault. The game starts like any modpack: a tree, tools, a mine. Then you find Chromatic Iron and Vault Stone, build an altar, complete a crystal and open a portal into a randomly generated dungeon full of loot. Danger and rewards grow with your level, and you develop your own talents and abilities. The goal is to collect 25 artifacts and unlock the final boss, after which the Greed endgame opens up. The authors say it's better with friends. It runs on Forge 1.18.2, latest release 3.21.7. 8 GB is enough — the Nexus plan. How to run a server: Vault Hunters server.

How to pick a modpack for a server with friends

The easiest way is to start with a genre the whole group wants to play and only then look at memory. Quick tips from the ranking:

  • RPG and bosses. Hardcore survival — RLCraft; story and voiced NPCs — Prominence II; Diablo-style loot and builds — Craft to Exile 2; dungeon runs as a team — Vault Hunters.
  • Horror. Into the Backrooms really comes alive in multiplayer thanks to the skinwalker, and in Cave Horror Project players talk over walkie-talkies.
  • Zombies. An urban apocalypse with tech — DeceasedCraft; hordes and guns — Cursed Walking; a story campaign — Biohazard: Project Genesis.
  • Skyblock and one block. A big skyblock based on ATM10 — ATM10 To the Sky; painting the world — SkyFactory 5; one-block phases — All in One.
  • Create and tech. Create with add-ons — All of Create; nothing extra — Just Create SMP; the long road from the Stone Age to space — SevTech: Ages. How to keep big factories running on a server is covered on our Create server hosting page.
  • Pokémon. Light and official — Cobblemon Official Modpack; Pokémon plus hundreds of mods — All the Mons; a genre classic — The Pixelmon Modpack.
  • Cozy farming. Cooking, fishing and hundreds of quests — Homestead; a Stardew Valley-style economy — Society: Sunlit Valley.
  • Kitchen sink. Everything at once — All the Mods 10; thousands of quests — Craftoria; a hybrid with a sense of humor — MC Eternal 2.

Once you've picked a genre, look at memory. The plan in the table above is sized for 2–3 players. Every player keeps loaded chunks around them, and on modpacks those chunks are heavier, so a bigger group should go one or two plans higher. The link between memory and player count is explained in detail in how much RAM a modded server needs.

How to install any pack from this list on Elysium

All 50 packs are in our CurseForge catalog, so there's no need to assemble mods by hand.

  1. Open the order page and find the pack in the list using search.
  2. Pick a plan. The form suggests the minimum plan by memory and flags plans that are too small for the pack.
  3. Pay for the order. The server downloads the pack from CurseForge and installs the right loader — Forge, NeoForge or Fabric.
  4. Start the server from your dashboard. The first start of a modpack takes longer than usual.
  5. Install the same pack version in your players' launchers and connect using the address shown in the panel.

If you already have a server, you can install a pack from the panel in the Modpacks tab (CurseForge only). This is a clean install: all server files, including the world, are deleted, so make a backup first. The general process for any pack is described in the guide how to install a modpack on a server.

Important: back up first

Changing the modpack, server software, Minecraft version or loader always means a clean reinstall. Save your world before you do it: an Elysium server makes an automatic backup every night, and there are manual slots too — 2 on Pulse, 3 each on Vector and Nexus, 5 on Apex. How to make a backup and roll back to it is covered in the server backup and restore guide.

If the server console complains about the Java version, remember a simple rule: packs on 1.10.2–1.16.5 need Java 8, on 1.18.2–1.20.1 Java 17, on 1.21.1 Java 21, and ATM11 on 26.1.2 needs Java 25. You change Java in the panel's Versions tab, and changing only the Java version doesn't touch the server files. If you already have a world on another host, you can bring it over: migration is free on plans from Vector up and costs €9.99 one-time on smaller plans. Details are on the server migration page.
