Prominence 2 server hosting is what you need when you want to play through the Hasturian Era campaign with friends instead of alone. It's one of the most downloaded RPG packs on CurseForge, with more than 13 million downloads, its own lore universe, voiced NPCs and a capital city that changes as the story moves on. Here's what a Prominence II server needs, how much memory to get, how to install the pack on Elysium and what to check before your first session.

What Prominence II: Hasturian Era is

Prominence II is made by ElocinDev and released under the Cinderstone Studios brand, and it isn't just a bundle of popular mods — it's built on custom content and its own lore. You play as one of the Flameborn, a race created by S'kellak, the Creator of All Things, to keep the realms in balance. After thousands of years of peace, a force called the Void invades the realms, and it's your job to stop it. The story is split into two major storylines, The Void's Invasion and The Hasturian Era, which unlock gradually as your character progresses.

The headline feature since version 4.0 is the Kingdom of Vaaz: a fully fledged capital city that is home to the Flameborn, the Dwarven and the Serkonid. The city has NPCs with dialogue, shops and quests, and it evolves along with your campaign progress. There are two dialogue systems: voice-acted scenes for the story (the authors stress that no AI was used) and interactive conversation screens for the other inhabitants.

The RPG layer is custom too. The talent tree lets you build your own class from 10 fates, 16 passive talents, 5 active abilities and 100 stat talents. You earn a talent point every two levels, enemies scale with your level, and the mob scaling supports multiplayer. In the endgame you forge artifacts from the Molten Core and upgrade them through their own upgrade tree, craft armor sets at the Primordial Forge and take on Mythic Challenges — timed boss fights with endlessly scaling difficulty and random affixes. There's transmogrification as well, so you can change how armor and weapons look without losing their stats.

For a server, that means a long campaign with shared progress that your group comes back to for weeks. So raw power isn't the only thing that matters — keeping the world safe does too. Losing a Chapter II playthrough to a botched update hurts a lot more than losing a couple of huts in vanilla.

Prominence II is built on Fabric rather than Forge, so the server has to run the same loader and the same Minecraft version. How a Fabric server differs from Forge and what to keep in mind when running one is covered on our Fabric hosting page. Don't add your own mods to the pack without a good reason: progression, mob scaling and talent balance are tuned for this exact set, and any extra server-side mod would have to be installed by every player too.

How much RAM you need and which plan to pick

The official Cinderstone Studios server guide sets the floor at 8 GB for a group of 3–4 players and suggests adding roughly 1 GB for each extra player: six players need about 10 GB, ten need about 14 GB. We build in more headroom from the start and recommend 12 GB for Prominence II: the pack is packed with custom content, and generating new areas is what eats memory fastest. How memory, mods and player count relate in general is explained in our article on how much RAM a modded server needs.

PlayersElysium planPrice
2–3Apex, 12 GB€30.99/mo
4–10Vanguard, 14 GB€35.99/mo
10–20Titan, 16 GB€40.99/mo

If you regularly have more than 15 people online, the authors' formula already points to around 19 GB — that's the Eclipse 20 GB plan at €50.99/mo. Besides memory, CPU clock speed matters: Minecraft's main game loop runs on a single thread, and that thread decides whether you hold 20 TPS during a Mythic boss fight. Elysium servers run on AMD Ryzen 9 7900X at up to 5.6 GHz with NVMe drives, and the data center is in Frankfurt.

How to install Prominence II on an Elysium server

The pack is in our CurseForge catalog, so you don't need to assemble any mods by hand.

  1. Open the order page and find Prominence II in the modpack list using search.
  2. Pick a plan. The form suggests the minimum plan by memory and flags plans that are too small for the pack.
  3. Pay for the order. The server downloads the pack from CurseForge and installs Fabric on its own.
  4. Start the server from your dashboard. The first start takes longer than usual while the mods initialize and prepare world data.
  5. Install Prominence II in your launcher, check that every player's pack version matches the version on the server, and connect using the address shown in the panel.

If you already have a server, you can install the pack from the panel in the Modpacks tab. This is a clean install: all server files, including the world, are deleted, so make a backup first. The general process for any pack is described in our guide on how to install a modpack on a server.

Important: download the pack from official pages only

The Prominence II authors warn explicitly that the pack is distributed only through the official Cinderstone Studios sites, CurseForge and Modrinth, and that third-party "mirrors" may contain malicious content. Ask your friends to install the client from those sources only — as a bonus, everyone ends up on the same version as the server.

Settings and tips for group play

Server files are available in the panel's file manager and over SFTP. The authors don't publish any special server.properties requirements, so start with sensible basics:

  • white-list=true — if the server is for your group only, enable the whitelist and add friends with whitelist add <name> in the console.
  • view-distance — 8–10 chunks is usually enough. A long view distance in a densely generated world is the fastest way to max out the CPU.
  • max-players — set the real number of players so resources aren't reserved for empty slots.
  • Pre-generation — if you want to generate the area around spawn in advance, do it before players arrive and after a manual backup.

A couple of things are worth agreeing on with your group in advance. In multiplayer Mythic encounters the team gets up to three lives, and losing them lowers the Unholy Hourglass level, so go into those challenges with a prepared group. For bigger servers, the official guide also recommends scheduled restarts and regular backups.

Common problems and how to fix them

A player can't join the server

This is almost always a version mismatch. Prominence II updates very often: between September 24 and October 23, 2026 there were six releases, from v4.1.1 to the v4.1.5hf hotfix. After every update, check that each player's launcher version matches the server version, and don't add client mods that aren't part of the pack.

The server crashes on startup

Open the console in the panel: Fabric reports which mod failed to load and why. If the error is about Java, make sure Java 17 is selected. You can switch Java in the Versions tab, and changing only Java doesn't touch the server files. If the log shows OutOfMemoryError, the server is short on memory and it's time for a bigger plan.

Lag in combat and while exploring

The server works hardest when several players head off in different directions at once and generate new areas. A shorter view distance and spare memory help. If TPS drops all the time, work through the causes step by step with our modded server optimization guide.

Backups and pack updates

An Elysium server makes an automatic backup every night, and for important moments there are manual slots: 5 on Apex, 6 on Vanguard and 7 on Titan. Before updating the pack, follow this order: make a manual backup in the panel, download the world folder over SFTP, install the new version through the Modpacks tab and put the world back. Remember that installing through Modpacks deletes all server files, and major pack updates sometimes change world generation and world data — so read the changelog before you update, not after.

Launch your Prominence II server on Elysium

Ryzen 9 7900X up to 5.6 GHz, NVMe, a Frankfurt data center, nightly backups and DDoS protection. For the Hasturian Era campaign with 2–3 players, Apex 12 GB at €30.99/mo is a good fit.
