Why Fabric is so light

Fabric was designed as a minimal mod loader from the start: a small core plus exactly the mods you want. An ecosystem of server-side optimizations grew around it — Lithium, FerriteCore and others rewrite engine bottlenecks and noticeably cut CPU and memory load. Fabric or Forge

The main question is which loader your desired pack is built for. Forge historically carries the largest tech modpacks and an enormous mod library. Fabric is lighter, faster and favoured by optimization and tech mods, and more serious packs ship on it every year. If a pack exists for both, Fabric is usually lighter on load. A light loader is no excuse for weak hardware
